It's time to dive into the world of skincare with a focus on one of our star products: Baby Face Retinol Serum. If you're new to retinol or looking to make the most of all the benefits it has to offer, this guide is for you.

What is retinol?

If you’re new to skincare or haven’t used a retinol product before, you might be wondering what it’s all about. Let’s check some facts about retinol and debunk some myths.

Retinol Fact:

Retinol is derived from Vitamin A and works to boost collagen and elastin production to plump and smooth your skin, helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines and enlarged pores.

Retinol Myth:

Retinol is only used for anti-aging benefits.

Retinol Fact:

Actually, Retinol can be used for a range of skin benefits! It’s derived from Vitamin A and works to boost collagen and elastin production to plump and smooth your skin, helping to minimise the appearance of fine lines and enlarged pores. It can also help to reduce breakouts and blemishes.

Retinol Fact:

Retinol can increase your skin’s photosensitivity, so should always be used in conjunction with your favourite Bondi Sands SPF (which you should be applying every day anyway!).

Retinol Myth:

The more retinol you use, the better the results.

Retinol Fact:

Using too much retinol can have the reverse effect, which can lead to irritation, dryness and peeling. Use only once a week at first, gradually increasing frequency as you establish your skin’s tolerance. We’d suggest kicking things off with Baby Face as it has a very gentle retinol concentration of 0.5%.

“I have been looking for a good retinol product to help with my acne and fine lines and I have finally found one!”

How To Use Retinol

New to retinol? We’re here to walk you through getting the most out of your retinol product.

3 steps to using retinol in your skincare routine.

Step 1:

Start with clean, dry skin.  You only want to be using retinol once a week when you’re first starting out, so build this into your weekly skincare routine as one of your steps.

Tip: Retinol can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, so it is best to use as part of our nighttime skincare routine.

Step 2:

Take 2-3 drops of Baby Face Retinol Serum and massage into your face, bringing it down your neck too.

Step 3:

Continue with any oils, serums and moisturisers(and don’t forget to apply SPF the next morning!).

Tip: Best to apply in the PM and not to use other actives in your skincare routine on the same day as using retinol, pairing it with other actives may cause irritation.

About Baby Face 0.5%

Introducing retinol into your skincare routine can be a game changer, but it can also be intimidating, especially for beginners or those with sensitive skin. That's where Baby Face comes in. With a gentle 0.5% concentration of retinol,it’s perfectly crafted for those who need aslightly less intense option without compromising on effectiveness.

Why Start with a Lower Concentration of Retinol?

Retinol is a powerful ingredient that accelerates skin renewal and boosts collagen production. However, higher concentrations can sometimes lead to irritation, redness, and peeling, especially for sensitive skin or those new to retinol. A 0.5% concentration offers a gentler introduction, allowing your skin to adapt gradually.

Starting with a lower concentration like 0.5% helps your skin build tolerance over time. As your skin gets accustomed to retinol, you can gradually increase the frequency of application without overwhelming your skin.

“I love the consistency of this serum, I love how it feels on my skin, and I have not had any irritation from using it each night. My skindefinitely feels softer and it sits well underneath my night moisturiser.”

- Peta ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you’re new to retinol, Baby Face Retinol Serum allows you to experience the wonders of retinol with confidence. This is because it offers a softer approach with a 0.5% concentration and formulated with Squalane to give you that boost of hydration.

Effective Skin Benefits

Despite its lower concentration, Baby Face doesn't compromise on effectiveness. It helps reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and uneven skin tone, promoting a smoother and more youthful complexion.

"Skin feels smoother & tighter after use, already noticed a difference in fine lines & wrinkles & only used 3 times!!”

- Rebecca⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
