Sunny is best used in the morning and for top ups throughout the day. During your morning beauty routine, use a Sunny SPF product after you’ve applied your last skincare product, but before you’ve applied any makeup. Think of it as a suncare sandwich – skincare, suncare, makeup.  

Yes! Sunny layers seamlessly under makeup. We’d suggest applying Sunny Cream SPF 60 Face Lotion or Sunny Drops SPF 60 Face Serum as the final step in your skincare routine, or the first step in your makeup routine. We’d also suggest bringing Sunny Spritz SPF 60 Face Mist on the go with you for any top ups throughout the day (or if you just want a little refresh!). It’s nice and lightweight over makeup, so you can feel confidently protected all day.

Sunscreen should be applied liberally and evenly 20 minutes before sun exposure and should be reapplied every two hours, or more often when sweating and after swimming, exercise or towel drying. In addition to reapplying, wear a hat and sunglasses to protect your face, and try to stay in the shade where possible.

Sunny Cream SPF 60 Body Lotion and Sunny Spritz SPF 60 Body Mist provide up to 80 minutes of water-resistant protection. We recommend reapplying at least every two hours, or more often after swimming, sweating, exercising or towel drying. Products in the Sunny face range have not been tested for water resistance.

Yes! We strongly encourage wearing SPF daily because even during winter, UV rays can still reach your skin. Daily suncare is easier than ever to seamlessly include in your beauty routine, thanks to Sunny! Simply choose which Sunny product you’d like to use, and apply it as the final step in your morning skincare routine. Be sure to reapply throughout the day to ensure your skin remains healthy and protected.

SPF or ‘sun protection factor’ is a rating that refers to a theoretical amount of time you can stay in the sun and be protected without getting burnt, compared to unprotected skin. For example, an SPF 60 allows you to stay in the sun with less risk of sunburn for sixty times longer than you would if you weren’t wearing sunscreen. Direct sun exposure can change the texture and elasticity in your skin, which can cause the appearance of premature aging like wrinkles.

Broad spectrum SPF refers to sunscreen that will protect your skin from both UVA and UVB rays. UVA rays are those that reach the middle layer of the skin (the dermis) and can cause skin to age, while UVB rays are linked to the burning of the outer layer of the skin (the epidermis).

You've likely heard the terms ‘UVA’ and ‘UVB’ bouncing around the suncare space. Ultraviolet A (UVA) is light that is around all day, year-round. Even when it’s cloudy, UVA can penetrate the middle layer of the skin (the dermis) which plays a major part in skin aging and wrinkles. It can even penetrate through glass windows! Ultraviolet B (UVB) is light that is more prevalent in sunny climates and conditions, and UVB has been associated with burning of the outer layer of skin (the epidermis) that can cause skin to turn red. UVB has been strongly linked to some cancers. While exposure to UV rays can help to achieve your daily dose of Vitamin D, it’s very important to wear sunscreen every day to protect yourself from sun damage.

We work closely with our manufacturer and testing partners on the pre-market compliance process to ensure all product claims are substantiated with robust testing and evidence, including validated SPF, broad spectrum, and water resistant testing for relevant products.
